Kurta with long jacket pattern:
Old is not old anymore. This Long jacket style kurta design will prove.
Remodeling has made everything turn new. Mom’s old Sarees are on demand now!
Long jacket style occurred to me when I saw this silk saree of my client with a little emotion is attached to it. She wanted me to make something out of her mom’s saree.
I thought a Jacket style kurti will justify for the amount of material available, as it is a saree.
Long Jacket Style kurta design:
It is a 2 piece dress, a sleeveless kurti with a long flown jacket over it.
Kurta is stitched using pallu of the saree. Long strip of pallu from top to bottom in the center, on front and back is stitched. The green strip of kurti is made to dominate through jacket. The boat neck compliments the open knot style of the jacket.
The jacket has been made in women shirt dress style but with knots on the top as you can see in the image below.
Entire saree is used except a some part of border is left to make this long jacket style. I deliberately used less of the green border on the jacket. Making sure that look doesn’t seem jumbled colors with green and orange.
Contrasting orange Jacket is to dominate with the visible green part of kurta. I’ve tried to make it look as less messy as posssible using the border only at the hands.
Material is already bright with print all over it, using border everywhere may disturb the look.
My long jacket style kurta design satisfied client exceeding my expectation. That made me feel more happy.
