This product contains a lot of lovely components that are loaded with soothing benefits for the skin. If they choose to make this available in a cream form, it would be wonderful for people with dry, dehydrated skin, so I’m intrigued if they make that decision. People with combination, oily skin and those who live in hot regions would benefit most from this gel cream. I don’t believe this would be sufficient for everybody who experiences dehydration problems, but even so, it is a terrific gel cream when applied topically because it immediately relieves the skin from further inflammation, and the redness does gradually fade after application.

The essential oils in this lotion are the one thing that really confuses me. Essential oils have given me sensitivity, therefore if I could, I would prefer to stay as far away from them as possible. Although I personally had no negative reactions to this product, I would still rather be cautious than sorry when it comes to my skin.

Be warned that this product contains dimethicone, which some people find irritating. This gel-cream pills on the skin, and it even pills when sunscreen is applied on top, therefore I found it to be ineffective as a makeup base.

iUNIK Centella calming gel cream: Key Ingredient Analysis

Centella Asiatica Leaf Water (72%) and Centella Asiatica Extract:

Centella Asiatica extract, a naturally occurring substance, used for many years in traditional medicine to treat a variety of skin disorders. Often known as Gotu kola, is a plant with anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and skin-healing saponins (triterpenoids) in abundance. Some of these substances can also increase the production of hyaluronic acid in our skin, which keeps our skin moisturized.

Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Extract and Melaleuca Alternifolia Leaf Water (10%):

Natural component tea tree leaf extract is well known for having antibacterial and antiseptic qualities. It can be beneficial for calming and repairing skin that is prone to acne.

Niacinamide:

Niacinamide is a type of vitamin B3 that has been demonstrated to have a variety of positive effects on the skin, including minimizing the visibility of pores and wrinkles, balancing skin tone, and re-establishing the skin barrier. It enhances skin texture, lightens dark spots, and brightens the complexion. Niacinamide is popular among people with oily, acne-prone skin since it can also help balance the production of oil in the skin.

Arginine:

Research has indicated that the amino acid arginine has rejuvenating effects on the skin. It can aid in enhancing the appearance of dry, damaged, and rough skin. Arginine is a natural moisturizing factor (NMF), a substance that aids in maintaining the moisture content of our skin by drawing and holding onto water.

Allantoin:

Allantoin is a substance that the comfrey plant’s roots contain. It is a softening and relaxing ingredient for the skin that might aid in repairing damaged skin.

Adenosine:

A natural substance called adenosine has been found to have anti-inflammatory and skin-restorative qualities. It contributes to a healthier complexion by supporting and defending the skin barrier.

Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate:

Licorice root is the source of dipotassium glycyrrhizate. It is an anti-inflammatory and skin-soothing substance that can help lessen the visible signs of redness and inflammation. It also regulates sebum production, which makes it a suitable option for acne and pimples.

Hyaluronic acid:

Hyaluronic acid, a substance that is naturally present in our skin, is known as sodium hyaluronate. It is a potent humectant that draws in and holds onto moisture, keeping our skin hydrated and looking young. Sodium hyaluronate can more readily penetrate the skin because its molecules are smaller than those of hyaluronic acid.

Aspalathus Linearis Extract:

The Rooibos plant yields the antioxidant Aspalathus linearis extract. This extract can assist in defending our skin against free radicals, which can harm it and speed up the aging process.

Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract:

Licorice root extract, also known as glycyrrhiza glabra (licorice) root extract, includes the antioxidant and brightening component glabridin. This extract from plants can also aid in calming and soothing the skin.

Six sprout extracts:

Six sprout extracts, including those from Triticum Vulgare (wheat) germ, Brassica oleracea italica (broccoli), Brassica oleracea capitata (cabbage) leaf, Medicago sativa (alfalfa) seed, Raphanus sativus (radish) seed, and Brassica campestris (rapeseed), are from plants and are high in antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, enzymes. Although I can’t smell much at all, the gel cream contains bergamot fruit oil from Citrus aurantium.

How to use iUNIK Centella calming gel cream?

Apply a thin coating of the gel cream to your face and neck after cleansing, toning, and any preferred skincare serums or treatments, and let it absorb. Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher after your morning skincare regimen.
