Cooked white rice stays for four to seven days in the refrigerator. Rice will have a significantly longer shelf life if it is properly preserved. However, don’t depend just on this rule: utilize your sense of smell or the texture of the rice to determine whether it’s still safe to eat.
Cooked brown rice may be kept in a shallow jar in the refrigerator for four days if properly covered. It will keep its quality for six months in the freezer, but it will stay safe permanently if the temperature remains at 0 degrees F or lower.

Cooked rice at room temperature
If you’re going to serve the rice at room temperature in a bowl on your table, refrigerate it within two hours after cooking. If you are dining outside and the temperature is 90 degrees Fahrenheit or higher, toss the rice after two to three hours.
